Feminism is the radical notion that women are people. ~ Cheris Kramarae and Paula Treichler.
I listen to feminists and all these radical gals – most of them are failures. They’ve blown it. Some of them have been married, but they married some Casper Milquetoast who asked permission to go to the bathroom. These women just need a man in the house. That’s all they need. Most of the feminists need a man to tell them what time of day it is and to lead them home. And they blew it and they’re mad at all men. Feminists hate men. They’re sexist. They hate men – that’s their problem. ~Jerry Falwell
What is Gender Agenda?
- Gender Agenda is a space for writing about feminism, gender, sexuality and anything related. You can post whenever you want, and within reason you can write whatever you want. We aim to foster feminist related discussion . Remember, there are many different strands of feminist thought as there are feminists. This is a place to work out your ideas and discuss them with the like and less like-minded.
- Gender Agenda is run in association with CUSU Women’s Campaign.
What length/style of article is right?
- Try and keep your writing below 900 words, but it can be as short or as unformed as you like.
- Think journalistic rather than academic.
- Poetry/photographs/pictures/comics also welcome
Rules of the game?
- All writing from anybody is encouraged, just don’t be sexist, gender-phobic, racist, homophobic, disabled-phobic, or in any way abusive.
- No intimidation, discussion is totally welcome but keep it constructively on the article rather than the person writing
- All opinions are welcome from the most trivial to the most radical
- Finally, unless you would feel more comfortable writing anonymously for the ‘Sexion’, we have a real name policy. This is not strictly enforced; if you feel more comfortable writing with a username that’s fine, but we do encourage you to use your own name. Own your ideas.
What is this ‘Sexion’?
- We’re just testing this one out at the moment: write feminist/queer erotica, reviews of sex shops, sex toys, pornography that you think is relevant to a feminist audience, you get the idea.
Lots of love, The Gender Agenda Team
